From The Archives: Century 21 Exposition

Century 21 ExpositionThe Century 21 Exposition was a World’s Fair held in Seattle, Washington in 1962. The fair - key theme was: Man in the Space Age - is documented online, but not abundantly. PK from BibliOdyssey did some researches, finally being a little disappointed by the lack of material available (decent futuristic diagrams and brochures).

Nevertheless, the entry is worth a visit (… like all other BibliOdyssey entries, of course): Century 21 Exposition (March 28). Click on images there for larger view.

From Our Blogroll: [TXTNWS] > RICH.TXT

RICH.TXT (or R.TXT; subscribe: FeedBurner Feed) is:

… an ongoing research-project by the Vienna-based organisation CONT3XT.NET, collecting methods, resources and theories concerning the changing constitutions of “text” in the digital realm. It is the following project of [TXTNWS], a weblog based upon language-theory. R.TXT broaches the issues of the linguistic and literary category “text” and its special characteristics on the Internet. The application of language theory to New Media publishing results in the recontextualisation of the Internet and its main medium, language.

The organisation CONT3XT.NET investigates the (perception of) communication in our society by means of experimental formation, starting from the concept of the context and its transfer into digitally networked interrelation. The name CONT3XT.NET is programmatic for the connection of the subject matter and its environment, which is the basis for an understanding of media, culture and information. Furthermore, it stands for structures of significance and aesthesia of the contents these concepts are based upon.

And there are many further projects by CONT3XT.NET, for instance RE MAGAZINE - an online interview magazine.

Jean-Luc Godard: Dans le noir du temps

Jean-Luc Godard’s contribution to the Ten minutes older film project (2002, Wikipedia) dealing with the basic topic of time: a montage of archival material and clips from various films, including iconic images from the director’s own previous body of work.

PS: Meanwhile, Godard’s Lettre à Freddy Buache (blogged February 27, 2007) is no longer available on YouTube.
