Wäre es denn nicht sowieso effizienter und klüger, Griechenland bereits jetzt das gesamte Hilfspaket von 110 Milliarden (vorläufige Schätzung) auszuzahlen? Man würde sich dadurch buchhalterische Umtriebe sparen und wüsste noch in diesem Jahr, ob die Hilfe überhaupt Früchte trägt.

As a rule, May Day is a traditional holiday here in Winterthur, Switzerland. No workday, a free day in the midst of the week – a day to cook a Franconian bratwurst, or a Thuringian bratwurst, or a Nuremberger bratwurst under the grill.

But not this year!

May Day 2010 is identical to Saturday 1st of May 2010 (that’s tomorrow!). We never work on Saturdays, as we never work on May Days. So the bottom line is that we will be in the red with the total of our recreation time at the end of this year.

But be that as it may… We wish you a trouble-free and enjoyable weekend!

…erinnert an den Geburtstag von Antonio Lucio Vivaldi. Geboren am 4. März 1678 in Venedig stirbt der einst berühmteste Musiker Europas am 28. Juli 1741 als armer Mann in Wien. Beigesetzt wird er ausserhalb der Stadt auf dem Spitaller Gottesacker vor dem Kärntnertor – heute erhebt sich die Technische Universität Wien über seiner Grabstätte.

Vivaldi geriet nach seinem Tod für lange Zeit in Vergessenheit, ist aber heute wieder bekannt und weitherum auch populär. So kennt der hier Schreibende einen Wellensittich, der nach ihm [Vivaldi] benannt ist. In der Liste der 15′000 Hundenamen scheint er allerdings – anders als etwa Mozart – nur mit seinem Vornamen Antonio und – zwischen Valda und Valdo – in der Kurzform Valdi auf.
