FROM MOROCCO TO INDIA

Oriental music is rich and not confined to one geographical region. Orientaltunes.com provides informations about it’s major artists, “since the beginning of recorded music to the present”, and offers numerous audio and video samples (to download for free). In the excellent rare tunes section you can find some masterworks which are not available on the market. Amongst the artists: the Muwashahat composer and player Sayed Darwish (1892-1923), and Saliba al-Qatrib (1904-1994), one of the greatest Arab oud players, composers and singers.

SALTICIDAE OF THE WORLD

They have beautiful names as
Abracadabrella, Asianellus, Corambis, Eolinus, Lamottella, Mopsus mormon, Myrmarachne, Platycryptus, Udvardya, Yepoella, Zenodorus
… and they are charming animals that look up and watch you. Their excellent vision allows them to hunt as much as cats do.
Here is a complete taxonomic catalogue of them by Jerzy Proszynski (Museum and Institute of Zoology, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warszawa).
