Dear Dog Lovers – As salaamu alaikum!

Dog Maybe you know that Swiss voters have just backed a call to ban minarets from mosques. The guys here at Paperholic are very surprised and sad and disappointed about it…

… I myself have no voting rights but after reading this article examining the place of dogs in Islam I must confess that I would have loved to see more new minarets built here in Switzerland. I think, minarets are also excellent orientation points for your daily walks, especially in the evening time when their lamps are lighted.

What a pity, but that’s life, and life must go on. And so I wanna (finally) say some words about our new header image. At a first look it seems to be a little bit esoteric; but in fact, it shows a very common scene (revealed only by shadows): a dog with a big snout looking at a two-humped camel passing by in the sand of a dune.

It’s not exactly brilliant, I think, but it could be worse. See you next time!

Schweiz / Börse am Nachmittag: Kursverlauf südwärts – Sinnlose Sorgen um Dubai?

- Dubai News (26. November): Die Gefahr einer Pleite ist reine Spekulation – denn:

Was die Experten [...] vergessen ist die Tatsache, dass das steinreiche Abu Dhabi, das die Emirate dominiert, Dubai nicht im Stich lassen wird. So wurden von Abu Dhabi gestern noch einmal fünf Milliarden Dollar nach Dubai überwiesen.

Dieser weinerliche – geradezu, no offense, weibische – Unterton in manchen Trader-Aussagen ist angesichts der Faktenlage somit nicht angebracht.

Vielleicht liegts am (fehlenden) Testosteron..? Seine Bedeutung fürs Handelsgeschehen wurde bereits im letzten Jahr erkannt und dieser Tage eben wieder bestätigt. Klebt euch also ein Skrotalpflaster auf den Sack, wenn ihr euch mutlos und müde fühlt.

PS: Jahreszeitlich bedingt kann dieser Hormonmangel nicht sein: Der November ist seit Menschengedenken der zweitbeste Börsenmonat des Jahres (- und das soll er gefälligst auch bleiben).
