Our Weekly Postcard (XCVIII)

There are not only people who (have to) work on weekend: Georg, the dog below, is a guard dog on a construction site in Berlin, Germany. Georg will keep a sharp eye on the tools and building materials during the next two days (together with his dog handler Hans).

Aktueller Kurs (circa) : Jahrestiefststand > Performance

Citigroup Inc (US-Dollar): 4.48 : 0.97= 4.6
UBS N (Schweizerfranken): 18.80 : 8.20= 2.3

Wo müsste UBS N heute stehen, damit sie uns seit ihrem Jahrestiefststand ebenso viel eingebracht hätte wie Citigroup Inc? Bei 8.20 x 4.6 = 37.72 Schweizerfranken.

Runden wir grosszügig ab (schliesslich gilt es Währungsschwankungen, Wechselspesen, unterschiedliche Courtagen und Abgaben zu berücksichtigen): bei 36.00 Schweizerfranken. 36.00 scheint uns (und anderen) in mittlerer bis ferner Zukunft durchaus realistisch…

…wenn doch nur das Wörtchen wenn nicht wäre!

Before the Bell: Citigroup Inc – könnte ja sein, dass wir heute Abend unser Blaues Wunder erleben und Citigroup Inc unter 4.00 donnert. Bei 3.00 werden wir zukaufen – ist schon fix getriggert!

Wer auf die Analysten hörte, hat Geld verloren (Bloomberg via cash.ch, 19. August):

Wer beim Börsentief im März auf die Anlagetipps der Wall-Street-Analysten gehört hat, verpasste nicht nur die stärkste Aktienrally seit sieben Jahrzehnten. Er verlor sogar mehr Geld, als er eingesetzt hat.
