Our Weekly Postcard (LXXI)

There was so much kerfuffle over the last days. Some keywords:

- thumb up gif Sen. Barack Obama in Berlin (see Update below!)
- thumb down gif Swiss Army’s commander-in-chief suspended, NOT fired as he should have been
- thumb down gif 2 Swiss nationals arrested by Libyan police as an act of retaliation

So we need some relaxation time. Good weather provided, we will make a ride on river Rhein in our small rubber boat. But without going over waterfalls because we want to be back here on Monday.

Schweiz: Inlandgeheimdienst illegaler Machenschaften bezichtigt

Laut Meinung der Organisation grundrechte.ch (Website) eskaliert die so genannte Fichenaffaire II*. Die Organisation teilt in der Zusammenfassung der Medienkonferenz vom 23. Juli 2008 (PDF) unter anderem mit:

Zehn Jahre nach Einführung des Staatschutzgesetzes (BWIS) ist klar: Der Inlandgeheimdienst DAP (Dienst für Analyse und Prävention) fichiert wieder widerrechtlich politisch aktive Personen und Medien. Dies bestätigten die Antworten des eidgenössischen Datenschützers auf Einsichtsgesuche. grundrechte.ch fordert nun zusammen mit den Betroffenen ein vollständiges Einsichtsrecht in die Staatsschutz- Akten.

*Anmerkung:
Die (erste) so genannte Fichenaffaire (auch Fichenskandal) ist eine Episode der neueren Schweizer Geschichte in der Endphase des Kalten Krieges: Wikipedia-Artikel. Die Affaire wurde nur teilweise bewältigt – so ist etwa bis heute nicht bekannt, wer der Chef der Geheimarmee P-26 war.
