Our Weekly Postcard (LXVI)

To blog or not to blog – that’s our question of the moment.
No, we are not obsessed with checking our sitemeter – we don’t even have one here. And no, we would not be depressed if we had a sitemeter and would check it.
It’s more a general feeling at this point: We think that there’s more and more something fishy about blogosphere. Too much hubris, too much spam, too much propaganda, too much SEOs, sometimes even too much boredom.
We are at the crossroads now.
What are our alternatives? One is to end blogging; the other is to stop blogging. Well, at this very moment we prefer the second one. A sharp halt – time for re-thinking our concepts. Following some of our ideas:
(1) Upgrading Paperholic blog to WordPress 2.5 (based on PHP5) and going spiritually back to our roots: more images than words, more vintage feelings than up-to-dateness, more charme than aggressiveness, written only in English. Being asked to name a prototype, we would answer: Mr. Zeigermann’s The Cartoonist blog – but with the restraint that we are not cartoonists.
+
(2) An additional new main blog with more words than images, more up-to-dateness than vintage feelings, more aggressiveness than charme, written only in German. Being asked to name a prototype, we would answer: Mr. Klaus J. Stöhlker’s Weblog – but with the restraint that, politically seen, he is on an other tack than we are (i.e. he is on the wrong tack).
To end this long story: Stay tuned, pls. Come over here from time to time. And perhaps, you want to contact us via our Contact us because you have a blog based on a concept we described above (and we should link to it).

Arbeitswelt: NSFW-Webadressen sicher versenden bzw.
Take me there (Klick-Button) gelangt man zur Website. Hier unser Link-Beispiel.

Sports/Formula 1: Max Mosley Nazi orgy video allowed on internet
Judge David Eady said the material had already been published so widely that an injunction would make little difference.
The video is now back on the News of the World website. Warning: contains graphic images!
