Zahl der Woche: Weibliche Gefangene in Deutschland

Es gibt - neben den Blogs und Sites, die wir in unserer Sidebar auflisten - eher wenig Brauchbares im Internet. :evil: Zu diesem Wenigen gehört die Website des Statistischen Bundesamts Deutschland (www.desatis.de). Wir haben sie hier aufm Blog schon gelegentlich zitiert.

Spiegel Online verwies kürzlich auf die Pressemitteilung des Bundesamts über die Nutzung des Internets in Deutschland (56% der Internetnutzer sind täglich oder fast täglich online). Aber diese Mitteilung ist geradezu zweitrangig angesichts der Zahl der Woche, welche das Bundeamt eben veröffentlicht hat: 5,3% aller Gefangenen in Deutschland sind Frauen (Stichtag: 30. November 2006):

Der Strafvollzug (von Freiheits- oder Jugendstrafe), in dem sich Ende 2006 mit 3 100 Personen die größte Gruppe weiblicher Gefangener befand, wies einen Frauenanteil von gut 5% auf. Gleichzeitig lag der Frauenanteil in der Abschiebungshaft bei 12% und in der Untersuchungshaft bei 6%. In der Sicherungsverwahrung befanden sich am 30. November 2006 ausschließlich Männer.

Da führt uns der Soft- und Hardcore-Boulevard, zum Beispiel Spiegel Online bzw. Bild, fast täglich eine Kindsmörderin oder sonst eine Bestie vor - und dann dies: nur 5,3%.

Kriminalität ist ein komplexes Thema, und wir selbst wissen sehr genau, wie schwer sich Männer tun können - trotzdem (oder gerade deshalb): eine beeindruckende, nachdenklich stimmende Zahl.

Our Weekly Postcard (XXXXII)

Karl-Heinz Grasser in Vanity Fair

A double-sided card, again. We have, like many other bloggers, a slight tendency towards exhibitionism. Therefore, this card is showing some aspects of our daily evening life.

Above, you can see what we were reading yesterevening: the freshly launched German edition of Vanity Fair. The man depicted is not a pimp but the former Austrian minister of finance, Karl-Heinz Grasser (38). He is married to Fiona Swarovski from famous Austrian crystal and fashion company Swarovski.

Below, you can see what we were eating during blogging, after reading Vanity Fair: a Nestlé Desserttöpfli, or in French, a Petit Pot Dessert. High-quality chocolate produced by famous Swiss nutrition company Nestlé.

Yes, living in Switzerland is easy these days.

Largely unnoticed and ignored, corrugated iron buildings can be discovered scattered across Britain and the Empire. The initial proliferation of buildings constructed of corrugated iron was sparked off by an invention of 1828.
