Art: Lisa Krivacka
These paintings could be simply ironic, and they come dangerously close to being mean-spirited. After all, somebody lives in these places she makes look so shabby, and irony is a mainstay of painting these days. But fortunately, because Krivacka manages to stop short of that, the paintings are more nuanced with a glimmer of something else – could it be sincerity? (- Margaret Hawkins, Chicago Sun Times)
