Das ist kalter Kaffee, Herr Aurel Schmidt!

Nein, nein - das ist brandaktuell, was Sie schreiben, und der Titel ist nur mein laienhafter Versuch, indirekt Aufmerksamkeit für Ihren Artikel* zu wecken - meine Boulevard-Masche.

Brandaktuell hört sich allerdings auch so boulevardesk-aufgeregt an. Ich bin mir sicher, bereits bei den Alten Griechen und Römern war es nicht anders. Schreiben wir deshalb besser: aktuell wie eh und je. Siehe die so genannten Kommentar-Threads der Blogs! Siehe aber auch die Arena-Sendung heute Abend im Schweizer Fernsehen (SF 1). Angekündigt ist eine Diskussion darüber, wie man uns auf optimale Art und Weise besteuert.

Schreibender sieht sich Arena-Sendungen, wenn überhaupt noch, nur zum Spass an. Der Spass besteht für ihn darin, sich selbst vorauszusagen, wie das Argument B lauten wird, welches auf Argument A folgt. Und etwas selbstgefällig verrät er: Die Trefferquote liegt bei annähernd 100 Prozent.

Das ist doch brillant! Aber da Bescheidenheit eine Zier ist: nicht so brilliant wie diese Damen und Herren, welche es - im heissen Rampenlicht stehend - über eineinhalb Stunden schaffen, ihre Floskeln ohne störendes Stottern aufzusagen.

Poynton’s imagery is so close to the romantic and the surreal that her paintings do not work as romantic or surreal images. They have no overt symbolic meaning. They are ethical in that they do not encourage any moral directives. They appear to assume a postmodern, deconstructionist stance, albeit without the usual witticisms or grandeur. They affirm Jacques Derrida’s assertion that only painting can radically uncover truth. This is an art that speaks directly from itself, executed ‘on a knife’s edge’, so to speak. (- Peter Rech)
