A card from yesterday, April 22. It was a friendly, warm and sunny day in Zurich, and we went to the Johann Jacobs Museum, situated near the lake, for a vernissage. In the basement of the museum, housing the so called Media-Café, we got Café au lait for free, as much as we wanted.

Don’t miss this really charming museum on your next visit to Switzerland.

Later, we went to nearby Seefeldstrasse to drink mineral water and beer, respectively. Then we had a look at the news of the day: Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy, a Hungarian immigrant’s son, finished first in the opening round of France’s presidential election and will meet Socialist rival Ségolène Royal, a military officer’s daughter, in a run-off on May 6.

Let’s hope that France, this wonderful country, will finally get the tournaround.

Paperholics Freitagsgrantler: Die schweizerische Sozialdemokratie - überflüssig!

Man wusste es immer schon: Die Sozialdemokraten werden uns verraten. Alles war nur eine Frage des Zeitpunkts.

Vor gut zwei Jahren wurden dem städtischen Personal am Publikationsstandort dieses Blogs (Winterthur, Schweiz) die Löhne gesenkt - unter tatkräftiger Mithilfe der sozialdemokratischen Gemeinderatsfraktion (einzig die Jungsozialisten wehrten sich dagegen - danke!).

Die Sozialdemokraten als Lohnabbauer…

Und später dann überbrachte uns ein sozialdemokratischer Bundesrat die Botschaft vom neuen Atomkraftwerk, das es in der Schweiz brauche, weil uns sonst in wenigen Jahren die Birnen flackern würden.

Und jüngst durfte man einen nationalen Parteipräsident erleben, der das Debakel seiner Partei bei den kantonal-zürcherischen Wahlen schönredete. Ein Mann aus Schaffhausen, der sich vom TV stets in seinem Arbeitszimmer beim Blättern in den Schaffhauser Nachrichten filmen lässt und dabei den Eindruck eines mit Valium sedierten Gummibaums vermittelt.

Die Sozialdemokraten als zahnlose Salbader…

Völlig unnötig, dass diese Partei im Herbst bei den Nationalratswahlen noch antritt.
