Our Weekly Postcard (XXVIII)

On my way back from a meeting this morning I came across this small train turntable not being used anymore. I asked myself:
Are we really switchmen, sometimes also called pointsmen?
It seems to me that most of our life is predetermined. We can’t switch the line, even if we want to. On the contrary, we have to use a considerable part of our energy to keep in lane.
PS: Interested in train turntable layouts? Here you go! I myself like the Affaleague Tramway, a tiny narrow-gauge railway that serves the Affaleague Athletic Footwear factory somewhere in Micronesia. But form your own view, pls!

Nature: Photos of a Scandinavian Backyard

Let’s end the week with a zoological subject. We know, that’s not everyone’s cup of tea… First, have a look at this high-res picture with the titel 35-cykelmedkorg. Still interested in more? Then, here you go: Dagen då larverna kom till Flogsta, a photo essay from Sweden. Last updated in June 17, 2005, but maggots and caterpillars are a part of nature’s cycles and therefore up-to-date again in this summer.
Hat tip for the link to prettyjenny, StumbleUpon
We are also a part of nature’s cycles… Tomorrow will begin the (next) weekend. Until Monday!

Sympathisch auch: SwissMiniGun is a fully authorized and licenced gunsmith company in Switzerland. Aus welchem Land die GLOCK stammt, das muss man hier unter Waffennarren ja wohl nicht extra erzählen.

Rites de potage (XXX)

Cuisine internationale, encore: MOS (from Mountain Ocean Sun) Burger is now the second largest fast-food franchise in Japan after McDonald’s. Unique Burgers are: MOS Rice Burger and Takumi Burger, a 10-level burger, featuring slices of avocado. To the MOS Burger Menu.
MOS Burgers – perfect for a eupeptic candlelight dinner, we think. Via Good Night Blog
